Refund policy
Returns and refunds
MAKALI does not offer voluntary change-of-mind returns, refunds or exchanges, including requests to change a size, colour or finish after purchase. This commercial policy does not limit your mandatory consumer rights.
Defective, damaged or incorrect items
If your item arrives with an initial defect, damage or differs from your order, contact japanyell0@gmail.com with your order number and a description of the issue. Photographs, where available, help us assess the problem. We will arrange the remedy required by applicable law, including repair, replacement or refund as appropriate. Do not send an item to the maker or our business address without receiving return instructions. A request for instructions does not remove any statutory right to cancel by notice.
Hand-finished items
Where stated on the product page, colour, tone, sheen and patterns naturally vary between hand-finished pieces and may differ from the example photograph. This does not exclude rights where an item is defective or materially not as described.
Mandatory local cancellation and consumer rights
Rights that cannot legally be excluded take priority over this policy. For example, where UK distance-selling rules apply, consumers generally have 14 days after delivery to notify cancellation and a further 14 days to return the goods, subject to lawful exceptions. Where Taiwan’s Consumer Protection Act applies, qualifying distance purchases generally carry a seven-day cancellation right without a reason or a charge, subject to statutory exceptions. These rights are not excluded merely because an item is hand-finished or because the customer selected a standard size or colour.
Other mandatory rights, remedies, deadlines and legally required treatment of return costs also remain unaffected. To notify us of a cancellation, email your name, order number, the item concerned, delivery date and a clear statement that you wish to cancel. We will provide the appropriate return instructions and refund information for your case. No part of this policy excludes a remedy that the law requires.
